Curriculum
Little Generation Day Care uses the Creative Curriculum for Preschool and a self-created curriculum called, Little Generation After School & Summer Curriculum for our school age groups. These curricula are designed to support the whole child by using the child’s interests and needs to create an environment in which children will choose to learn. The goals of our programs include fostering the innate desire of all children to learn, promoting academic achievement, and increasing the ability of students to make positive choices (including the choice to learn and explore). These curricula accomplish our goals by fostering a link between the teachers, students, and families and by activities that teachers create/implement and align with Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards and Ohio’s Common Core Standards.
We have adopted the Creative Curriculum for Preschool and Little Generation After School & Summer Curriculum, because these curricula support the belief that children learn best when their basic needs are met first (Maslow) and that children learn best from an environment in which their desire to learn is fostered by the activities that are created, the centers that are available during choice time, and by daily interactions amongst students and teachers.
